A forward-looking hydrogen refueling station development project designed for traffic along the Via Baltica route and the Pärnu region.

To date, more than €850,000 has been invested in the project. The station’s concrete piles and pile caps have been installed, approximately one-third of the load-bearing floor slab has been completed, external pipelines and utilities (80%) have been constructed, crushed stone bases for roads and площадки have been prepared, and readiness for connection to the electrical grid has been established. The next phase предусматриes the installation of the station’s technological equipment (with container-type electrolysis units planned for use). A preliminary design and building permit are in place.

The hydrogen production station is designed with a nominal capacity of 432 kg per day. Refueling operations are planned to systematically supply fuel for 15 city buses or 40 passenger vehicles. To supply the hydrogen refueling station, green hydrogen production is planned at the Raba 31 site. A key prerequisite for this is the use of renewable green energy in the production process, with plans to utilize the nearby Paikre solar power plant. When electricity generated by the solar plant is used for hydrogen production, water is split into hydrogen and oxygen, and the process produces no harmful emissions.

The property owner is seeking a new owner or lead developer for the project but is also open to discussing alternative forms of cooperation. The primary objective is the completion of Estonia’s first hydrogen refueling station and leveraging its first-mover advantage.

It is also possible to apply for support for the project from European Union structural and investment funds.
